Job description

We are seeking a Band 6 ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our anaesthetic team at Royal Brompton Hospital. Our team comprises ODPs and Anaesthetic Nurses supporting six operating theatres, including one hybrid theatre and five catheter labs. We also cover procedures in the new Diagnostic Imaging Centre, CT, MRI, and provide out-of-hours call support. Our team works with both adult and pediatric patients.

• The post holder will collaborate with senior staff and multidisciplinary team members to monitor and uphold high clinical standards and staff development within the theatre team.
• Perform tasks of an anaesthetic assistant following all checks and procedures as per National/Theatre Policy.
• Support other members of the multidisciplinary team as part of the anaesthetic team.
• Take responsibility for the professional development and performance of staff, acting as a mentor with senior support.
• Assume department responsibilities when required.
• Carry out care procedures independently, supervise staff, and maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide flexible clinical support across areas according to knowledge and training.
