Job description

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6-7 Biomedical Scientist in Haematology/Transfusion to work in Swansea. We are seeking a biomedical scientist capable of making a meaningful impact in supporting the laboratory's services.

Position Details:
  • Role: Biomedical Scientist
  • Banding: 6/7
  • Location: Swansea
  • Hours: Full-time (9:00 to 17:30)
  • Duration: 3 months / Ongoing
Key Responsibilities:

As a Biomedical Scientist specializing in haematology and blood transfusion, you will be expected to have extensive experience operating analyzers for full blood counts (FBC) and coagulation testing. Your duties will include maintaining and troubleshooting analyzers, as well as ensuring the correct blood type is matched to recipients.

Essential Requirements:
  • HCPC registration
  • Microtomy experience
  • Experience in UK NHS or private haematology labs
  • Skills in coagulation, blood film morphology, blood grouping, and antibody testing
  • Experience with Sysmex, Beckman Coulter DxH, and/or BioRad IH-1000 analyzers
