Job description

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6-7 Biomedical Scientist in Haematology/Transfusion to work in Manchester. We are seeking a biomedical scientist who can make a significant impact in supporting the laboratory's services.

Position Details:
  • Role: Biomedical Scientist
  • Banding: 6/7
  • Location: Manchester
  • Hours: Full-time (9:00 to 17:30)
  • Duration: 3 months/Ongoing
Responsibilities:

As a Biomedical Scientist specializing in haematology and blood transfusion, you will be expected to have extensive experience with analyzers for full blood counts (FBC) and coagulation testing. Your duties will include maintaining and troubleshooting analyzers, as well as ensuring the correct blood types are matched for recipients.

Essential Requirements:
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience with Microtomy
  • Experience in UK NHS or private haematology labs

  • Experience with Sysmex, Beckman Coulter DxH, and/or BioRad IH-1000 analyzers
