Job description

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6-7 Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology to work in the West Midlands. We are seeking a qualified biomedical scientist who can make a significant impact in supporting the laboratory's services.

Position Details:
  • Role: Biomedical Scientist
  • Banding: 6-7
  • Location: West Midlands
  • Hours: Full-time (9:00 to 17:30)
  • Duration: 3 months / Ongoing
Responsibilities:

As a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology, you should be proficient in microtomy, capable of cutting over 30 blocks per hour to a high standard, with experience in embedding and staining. Daily tasks include supporting senior biomedical scientists in service delivery and guiding junior staff.

Essential Requirements:
  • HCPC registered
  • Microtomy experience
  • Experience in UK NHS or private labs

  • Experience with automated culture systems (e.g., BACTEC) and molecular diagnostics (e.g., GeneXpert)
