JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a Band 6 or Band 7 Occupational Therapist looking for an exciting locum opportunity in Surrey? We have a fantastic role available within an acute hospital setting, offering great pay and flexibility!

Job Title: Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist
Location: Surrey
Duration: Ongoing contract
Schedule: Full-time (part-time considered)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £25-£29 per hour (dependent on experience)

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Locum Occupational Therapist working in an acute hospital setting, you will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients with a range of medical, surgical, and neurological conditions
  2. Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to support patients' rehabilitation and discharge planning
  3. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, nurses, and medical staff, to ensure a seamless patient journey
  4. Providing specialist advice on adaptive equipment, functional independence, and environmental modifications
  5. Supporting patients in early mobilisation, cognitive rehabilitation, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
  6. Managing a caseload of complex cases and prioritising care effectively in a fast-paced environment
  7. Contributing to service development initiatives and mentoring junior staff or students where applicable

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  1. HCPC registration and relevant professional memberships
  2. Previous experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally at Band 6 or Band 7 level
  3. Strong knowledge of discharge planning, frailty, orthopaedics, neurology, and general medical conditions
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  5. A proactive and patient-focused approach to care delivery

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role is full-time but open to part-time applicants. The contract is ongoing, with the potential for extension based on service needs and performance.
