Band 6/7 Rotational Pharmacist progression post

Currently a trainee pharmacist or a pharmacist wanting to move into the hospital sector? Kick start your hospital career by joining us in Salisbury! If you are keen to develop your patient-facing and clinical skills in a busy, friendly, and supportive environment, then we are the place for you.

We are committed to developing our staff and offer support to complete postgraduate clinical diploma and independent prescribing courses. We provide monthly one-to-one meetings and developmental ward visits to support your progression. Opportunities to develop your professional and clinical skills will allow progression to a band 7 position upon meeting key objectives. Our rotational programme includes rotations through admissions, medicine, surgery, and paediatrics.

Our band 7 role offers further development of leadership and clinical skills, including involvement in clinical trials, mentoring, supervising trainee and foundation pharmacists, developing specialist areas, and independent prescribing.

Main duties of the job

We are a friendly and supportive pharmacy team focused on delivering the best and safest clinical pharmacy service. The pharmacists we seek will be dedicated, hardworking, with excellent communication and organizational skills. They will be committed to professional development and continuous improvement of patient services.

You will be part of our established rotational training programme, aimed at developing core foundation skills in various clinical settings.

Our service operates 7 days a week, Monday to Friday 8:30 am-5 pm (no late shifts), Saturday 8:30 am-1 pm, and Sunday 9:30 am-1 pm. Weekend shifts are 1 in 8, with one bank holiday per year. You will also be part of our on-call team, covering 1 in 10 shifts.
