Job summary

The London Clinic is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for our Stem Cell Transplant Unit. Based in London, you will care for patients with complex haematological conditions, administer chemotherapy, and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.

You will complete our oncology/haematology training pathway, develop specialist knowledge, and maintain competencies. A supportive environment promotes professional growth and patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• At least one year of post-registration experience in an acute setting, including oncology/haematology.
• Recognised chemotherapy administration qualification (UKONS SACT or equivalent).
• Cancer foundation and haematology qualifications, or equivalent training.
• Familiarity with central venous access devices and phlebotomy skills.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload and make sound clinical decisions.
• Clear communication with patients and families, compassionate care.
• Experience in malignant haematology or stem cell transplantation is advantageous; familiarity with transplant processes, JACIE/FACT or clinical audits.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating individualised nursing care.
• Caring for oncology/haematology patients, including those undergoing stem cell transplantation.
• Administering chemotherapy and other prescribed treatments safely within competencies.
• Monitoring patients, escalating concerns promptly as needed.
• Providing central venous access device care and phlebotomy.
• Supporting patients and families with information and guidance.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate treatment and ongoing care.
• Maintaining records and contributing to audits and SOP reviews.
• Supporting new colleagues and contributing to service improvements.
