Job Overview
Welford (ED) Ward is a 15-bedded eating disorder unit caring for individuals with severe anorexia nervosa from across the East Midlands.

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and conscientious Band 5 nurse to cover maternity leave for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our well-established team, providing support and care to our patient group. You will collaborate with other Band 5 and Band 6 Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, Consultants, Medics, Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists, Ward Managers, and Team Managers to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-led care. The role is based at the Glenfield Hospital site within the Bennion Centre.

We operate a 24/7 shift system, primarily covering night shifts with four day shifts per month.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for clients/service users.
  • Assist in managing and organizing the ward/clinical area.
  • Maintain high standards of quality nursing care.
  • Participate in the education, development, and supervision of staff members.
  • Act as a clinical and professional role model, supporting students and learners.
  • Work collaboratively with others to meet the needs of clients/service users and their families.
