Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Staff Nurse to work in SDEC, an internal post limited to NCIC employees. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient group with complex needs in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires registration with the NMC, commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to lead and collaborate within the team. Closing date: 20 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with active NMC Registration.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Mentorship qualification and Aims Course.
• Experience in IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver and evaluate nursing care, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision.
• Assist in the management and provision of all aspects of patient care.
• Act in accordance with NMC code of professional conduct.
• Demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing practice and research.
• Comply with infection procedures too and control procedures at all times.
• Take personal responsibility for putting the person receiving the care first, and to challenge poor care/practice, doing so as soon as any short comings are seen.
• Take charge of the ward as requested
• Contribute to the running of the unit, providing leadership and supervision of less experienced staff
• Contribute to the review of staff performance
