We are currently seeking band 5 Staff Nurses to join the Acute Cardiac Care unit (ACCU) Team.

This is a great opportunity to develop your clinical experience and skills in a diverse and fast-paced environment. As a band 5 staff nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide specialist care to patients with a variety of cardiac conditions.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the clinical team delivering care to cardiothoracic patients alongside multidisciplinary team members.

About us

Harefield Hospital’s Acute Cardiac Care Unit is a 40-bed specialist cardiac centre caring for patients requiring cardiac investigations and interventions such as Angioplasty, Electrophysiology studies, TAVI, Ablations, and Pacemakers/Devices. We also care for patients with heart failure and those requiring end-of-life care. Our primary angioplasty service is among the busiest in the country, and we pride ourselves on post-MI care.

The ward benefits from two Practice Educators, in-house training days, and opportunities for postgraduate courses. We also have input from specialist nurses to support your knowledge development.

No prior cardiothoracic experience is required, as training and skill development are provided by our education teams and mentors.

Weekdays, nights, and weekends

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with UK NMC PIN
  • UK student Nurse Training to diploma/degree level
Experience
  • Ability to practice within the NMC Code of Conduct

  • Supervisory experience may be expected depending on previous experience
  • Awareness of NHS structure and organization
Skills
  • Good English and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage difficult situations
