We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and forward-thinking Specialist Dental Nurse to join the Birmingham Community Dental Nursing team. We are a multi-disciplinary team that carries out a variety of dental treatments under local anaesthetic, conscious sedation, and general anaesthesia.
Band 5 Paediatric Specialist Dental Nurse
30.0 hours / 0.8 WTE - for 12 months.
Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The post-holder must hold a Dental Sedation Certificate (IV and IHS), be up to date with Sedation training, and be able to provide a copy of their CPD log related to their Sedation specialism.
The post-holder must be flexible as travel to other sites/locations within the division may be required.
The Post Holder will support the clinical management of the dental specialty, ensuring high standards of patient care and adherence to all Trust policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include delivering high-quality clinical nursing support across Dental Services Division clinical sites, managing patients with complex dental, social, and medical needs, stock control, preparing specialised dental equipment, and supporting patient pre-operative assessments.
You will also provide clinical nursing support for radiography, identify staff and students needing additional training, support training initiatives with educational institutions, and adhere to policies supporting national compliance targets.
Additionally, you will implement clinical governance and quality improvement outcomes related to the specialty.
