Job summary

Sirona care & health CIC in Bristol invites applications for a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist. This fixed-term 6-month contract supports a dynamic NHS community service across BNSSG, offering 37.5 hours and flexible working.

You will rotate through MSK, Neurology, Paediatrics and community work, with induction and supervision. Requirements include BSc Physiotherapy, HCPC registration and a UK driving licence; joining NHS benefits and generous leave.

Responsibilities

• Act as an autonomous Physiotherapist practitioner, providing assessment and treatment, and managing your own patient caseload within a speciality team, with the support and mentoring of Senior Physiotherapists.
• Rotate to different clinical areas across the BNSSG region with clear learning objectives.
• Plan and prioritise your own workload, delegating tasks and communicating progress with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Supervise and train students as required.
• Communicate effectively with patients and carers to progress treatment programmes and provide reassurance.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with guidelines.

Sirona care & health are looking to recruit highly motivated physiotherapists who will deliver a high quality service and thrive on the opportunities this post offers. Sirona care & health are moving to an innovative integrated network model with emphasis on admission prevention, rapid acute management and long term self-management, enabling patients to live better lives in their own environment.

We have fantastic locality based rotations which include core and specialist areas such as: MSK, LD, Neurology, Paediatrics, falls, respiratory, and community ( supporting Discharge to Assess, Prevention of Admission and Community Therapy pathways). You will be working in a variety of locations (patients’ homes, outpatient clinics, Community Rehab Beds etc.).

Rotations are 6 months long with excellent induction, supervision and training frameworks which you will be engaged in immediately. Sirona care & health also supports students across the organisation and there will be opportunity for you to support student placements as you develop your own knowledge and skills. This highly supportive culture enables junior clinicians to develop into effective, autonomous clinicians with a broad range of transferable skill.

Main duties of the job

Based at various locations around the BNSSG region, you will be responsible for a busy physiotherapy case-load, working within experienced and supportive teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• To act as an autonomous Physiotherapist practitioner, providing assessment and treatment, and managing your own patient caseload within a speciality team, with the support and mentoring of Senior Physiotherapists.
• Rotate to different clinical areas across the region. Each rotation will have clear learning objectives to consolidate and build on graduate skills and academic knowledge.
• To plan and prioritise your own workload, delegating tasks as appropriate and communicating progress with the multi-disciplinary team.
• To supervise and train students as required.
• To communicate effectively with patients and carers to progress treatment programmes and provide reassurance.
• Use clinical reasoning and treatment skills to deliver personalised treatment plans based on evidence based practice.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with guidelines.

A valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes is an essential requirement for roles within Sirona care & health.

• Experience of core areas of physiotherapy at student or qualified level (MSK/Neuro/Resp)
• Competent assessment and treatment skills with ability to recognise potentially sinister signs/symptoms and contraindications to treatment and manage appropriately.
• Ability to adapt communication for individuals with varying communication needs.
• Experience of working in healthcare setting outside of degree placements
• Able to demonstrate an ability to work in teams and an understanding of teamworking
• Give an example of where you have used presenting skills to deliver information
