OPD Dermatology has multiple exciting opportunities for a Band 5 nurse to join our dedicated team.

We have a number of posts available within our Solihull Department.

We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic individuals with an interest in Dermatology nursing to join our well established team of staff. You will become part of a dedicated team who cover a wide range of specialities including skin surgery, light therapy, cutaneous allergy testing and nurse led therapies including nurse led biopsy clinics and wound management clinics, along with ensuring that an effective and high quality service is delivered to all patients.

As a band 5 you will work within your own initiative as well as being a valuable team player, enjoying the challenges of a busy outpatient department. You must be enthusiastic and motivated with excellent communication skills and have a commitment to provide exceptional patient care.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in Dermatology, to join our well-established team of staff. Carry out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality current evidence-based care underpins all actions and interactions with patients

Use up to date knowledge and evidence to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence changes and promote health and best practice. The individual must make person centred, evidence-based judgements in partnership with others involved in the care process to ensure high quality care

Act as advocate for patients within the areas, to ensure a patient focused approach to the delivery of care

Ensure patients receive high quality clinical care and a positive patient experience, having regard to their customs, beliefs and ethnicity

Ensure accurate, legible and timely documentation relating to all aspects of patients care and treatment both papers based and electronically in accordance with Trust/ NMC standards

Work alongside other health care professionals to ascertain treatments and advise on nursing priorities

Qualifications
  • *Evidence of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level leading to Professional registration on the appropriate part of the NMC register i.e. ( Adult / Child / Learning Disability or Mental Health)
  • *Evidence of undergraduate education for newly qualified nurses / or post graduate continuing professional development for registered nurses who have post registration experience
Experience
  • *Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary health and care setting (can include undergraduate student placements within the last 12 months)
  • *Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to or meets Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
  • * Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct and the proficiencies and standards for registered nurses can apply this to undergraduate training or post graduate practice
  • *Being an accountable professional
  • *Promoting health and preventing ill health
  • *Assessing needs and planning care
  • *Providing and evaluating care
  • *Leading and managing nursing care and working in teams -- including prioritisation and delegation skills
