We are looking for dedicated and experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Bacteriology Biomedical Scientists to join our clients team in South East London. This role involves working in a busy and dynamic laboratory environment, performing a wide range of bacteriological tests and analyses to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results, contributing to the overall quality of patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals seeking to advance their careers in a supportive and innovative setting.

What will your responsibilities be:

Conduct a variety of bacteriological tests and analyses, including culture, sensitivity testing, and identification of bacterial pathogens. Ensure all laboratory procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols and quality standards. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition. Accurately record and report test results, maintaining detailed and organised documentation. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive diagnostic services. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of laboratory practice. Provide training and support to junior staff and students as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in bacteriology within a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of bacteriological techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing laboratory tests.
