Band 5 Occupational Therapist – Secure Services – Bristol

Full-time - Fixed term 6 months (maybe extended)

We are looking to recruit an experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our large and enthusiastic occupational therapy team at Fromeside.

Fromeside is a regional medium secure unit, which provides a service to 81 in-patient service users with mental health needs. This role will work closely with our ward that offers inpatient care to men whohave a learning disability and/or autism spectrum disorder who require care in a medium secure setting.

Main duties of the job

Working as a key part of the team, you will routinely undertake all aspects of the Occupational Therapy process, including assessing each service user’s occupational functioning; planning, implementing and reviewing appropriate interventions and treatment methods. You will be able to employ a range of individual and group interventions, which embrace social inclusion and recovery principles at their core. You will benefit from working with a large and supportive team, within a unique and innovative environment.

On joining the team, you will receive a comprehensive structured induction package. We run monthly CPD sessions to ensure we are up to date with best practice and developing ideas. Within the team and across the wider service, promotes all aspects of continuing professional development. We meet monthly as a group of registered Occupational Therapists to focus on developing our assessment and reporting skills as well as taking part in additional training opportunities for expanding our skillset.

Due to the complex nature of the work, we carry out and the environment that we work in, we place great value upon the use of supervision, and each member of the team will be in receipt of at least monthly clinical supervision, monthly management supervision and the opportunity to attend monthly reflective practice with the wider team.
