The Mechanical Technician is a member of the LPT Estates and Facilities team and will carry out maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installation work on all facilities and plant equipment throughout the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust estate. The role involves acting as the Trust representative in the absence of the Supervisor or when requested by line management.
The technician will work on a range of estate services equipment, undertaking activities that require analysis of options and complex facts, many of which impact patient safety and the environment.
Responsibilities include:
The role may require working outside regular hours, including an emergency out-of-hours service, on a rotating shift pattern covering 365 days.
Additional duties include manufacturing, designing, assembling, erecting, and installing complex equipment, troubleshooting mechanical systems, complying with health and safety regulations, responding to alarms, managing contractor teams, deputizing for senior management, performing planned preventative maintenance, and using a company vehicle.
