Job description

Band 5 Immunisation Nurse - Bexley & Greenwich

The main duties of a Registered Immunisation Nurse include:

1. Assessing young people and understanding the prerequisites for administering immunisations.
2. Recognising contraindications, providing aftercare, and offering relevant advice to young people.
3. Contributing to the identification and protection of children at risk of abuse in accordance with local Safeguarding Children’s Board guidelines.
4. Ensuring all statutory and mandatory training is current, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Immunisation training.
5. Maintaining effective communication and liaison with other nursing disciplines and allied health professionals.
6. Providing support, mentorship, guidance, and supervision to junior and non-qualified staff within the School Nursing service.
7. Maintaining personal and team safety by adhering to legal requirements and recognized health and safety policies.
8. Being aware of and complying with Trust policies on Health and Safety.
