Band 5 Immunisation Nurse - Bexley & Greenwich
The main duties of a Registered Immunisation Nurse include:
- Assessing young people and understanding the prerequisites for administering immunisations.
- Recognising contraindications, providing aftercare, and offering relevant advice to young people.
- Contributing to the identification and protection of children at risk of abuse in accordance with local Safeguarding Children’s Board guidelines.
- Ensuring all statutory and mandatory training is current, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Immunisation training.
- Maintaining effective communication and liaison with other nursing disciplines and allied health professionals.
- Providing support, mentorship, guidance, and supervision to junior and non-qualified staff within the School Nursing service.
- Maintaining personal and team safety by adhering to legal requirements and recognized health and safety policies.
- Being aware of and complying with Trust policies on Health and Safety.
