Banding: 5
Location: Cumbria
Hours: Out of hours (night and weekend)
Duration: Ongoing
Rate: £17.00 – £20.00

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is recruiting a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist in blood transfusion to work in a busy hospital in Cumbria. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s service. We seek a Biomedical Scientist with experience in multidisciplinary settings, particularly with (Roche Cobas) Haematology and (Sysmex XN and CN).

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
As a Biomedical Scientist in blood transfusion, you will be expected to have excellent experience in blood typing and cross-matching using analysers. Experience in issuing blood for transfusions would be preferential. Any experience with complex transfusion reactions would also be a plus.

The client is usually happy to consider someone who is strong in either transfusion or haematology. You will be experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting the analysers alongside your usual duties in loading and operation.

Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:
• HCPC registered
• UK NHS or private sector laboratory experience
• Qualification in Biomedical Science
• Experience in Biochemistry (Roche Cobas) and/or Haematology (Sysmex XN and CN)/Transfusion (Ortho Vision) essential.
