Opening Paragraph:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 5/6 Locum Paediatric Dietitian to join our team in Islington. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized dietetic services to children and young people. If you are passionate about paediatric nutrition and looking to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply. This position is available for approximately six months, starting in mid to late October, while we recruit and potentially train a new paediatric dietitian.

Responsibilities:
As a Band 5/6 Locum Paediatric Dietitian you will be responsible for conducting two paediatric clinics each week at the Northern Health Centre, 580 Holloway Road, N7 6LB. Additionally, you will cover special schools in Islington and manage a caseload of additional outliers, including children with Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) and those requiring Home Enteral Tube Feeding (HETF). Your role will involve conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments, developing individualized care plans, and providing dietary advice to promote optimal health and development. You will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient records, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to the development of paediatric dietetic services. Your role will also involve providing education and support to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their nutritional needs and how to manage their diets effectively.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Degree in Dietetics and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in paediatric dietetics.
  • Strong clinical skills in nutritional assessment, care planning, and intervention for paediatric conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in paediatric dietetics.
