The post holder will provide high-level, competent, comprehensive administrative support to the Heads of Service.

The post holder will have day-to-day management of staff within a dedicated administrative team responsible for delivering an effective service.

They will support Clinical Leads/Service Managers with Personal Assistant (PA) duties and provide cross-cover within the Clinical Groups during short staffing periods to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Support other members of the Clinical Group by prioritising and managing workload, including outsourcing.
  • Review and prioritise all correspondence requiring clinical input, ensuring additional information needed by the Clinical Lead/Service Manager is provided.
  • Perform quality control checks across administration functions within the Clinical Groups, ensuring SOP adherence.
  • Act as the first point of contact for written and telephone enquiries on behalf of the Clinical Lead/Service Manager, using judgement to determine validity and priority.
  • Provide customer-focused service to patients, communicating effectively and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Manage and maintain the Clinical Lead/Service Manager’s diary or appointment system, ensuring appropriate time utilization and appointment allocation.
