A leading NHS Trust in the UK is seeking a post holder to assist in the Sterile Production Unit. You will support the Chief and Senior Technicians, ensure compliance with regulations, and develop expertise in aseptic preparation. This is a 12-month fixed-term role with opportunities for training and career growth. Previous applicants need not apply.
The post holder is to assist the Chief Technician and Senior Technicians in the day-to-day running of the Sterile Production Unit, the Central Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS), and the Non-Sterile Manufacturing Department, as well as the training of less experienced staff working in these units. The department is divided into four teams: Sterile Batches, Chemotherapy, Non-Sterile, and CIVAS. The post holder will be a member of one of these teams and will rotate between teams as required.
It is the post-holder’s responsibility to ensure that all products manufactured comply with Good Manufacturing Practice, COSHH, and Health and Safety directives.
This is a fixed-term position for 12 months.
The post holder will assist the Chief Technician and Senior Technicians and will deputise for the Senior Technician in each area during their absence.
The post-holder is expected to develop and maintain expertise in all technical aspects of manufacture and extemporaneous preparation within the production unit at The Royal Free Hospital, with a focus on aseptic preparation. They will be responsible for ensuring their own accreditations are completed and re-validated within the required time frames.
