A major NHS healthcare provider is looking for a team member to assist in the Sterile Production Unit. Responsibilities include supporting Senior Technicians, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and training new staff. The post holder is to assist the Chief Technician and Senior Technicians in the day-to-day running of the Sterile Production Unit, the Central Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS), and the Non-Sterile Manufacturing Department, including training less experienced staff. The department is split into four teams: Sterile Batches, Chemotherapy, Non-Sterile, and CIVAS. The post holder will be a member of one of these teams and will rotate between teams as required.
It is the post-holder’s responsibility to ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, COSHH, and Health and Safety Directives.
This is a Fixed Term post for 12 months.
The post holder is expected to deputise for the Senior Technician in each area in their absence.
The post-holder should develop and maintain expertise in all technical aspects of manufacture and extemporaneous preparation within the production unit at The Royal Free Hospital, particularly aseptic preparation. They will be responsible for ensuring their own accreditations are completed and re-validated within the required time frames.
