You must be a qualified Nursing Associate with NMC registration or an apprentice Nursing Associate about to qualify.

Main duties of the job

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Patient/customer care (both direct & indirect)

  • Assist registered nurses with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs, seeking evidence-based practices to improve quality.
  • Provide holistic, person-centered care considering physiological, psychological, spiritual, socio-economic, and cultural factors.
  • Support individuals with all aspects of care, promoting health and independence, and coordinating with other professionals as needed.
  • Prioritize workload based on clinical needs, recognizing changing priorities and seeking guidance accordingly.
  • Contribute to setting care standards and developing tools to improve service quality.
  • Manage time effectively to deliver care for assigned patients.
  • Collaborate with the ward team to ensure high standards of care.
  • Act as a patient advocate in line with NHS policies.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation, including electronic records.
  • Participate in nursing audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to setting goals and ensuring compliance with standards and targets.
  • Support the development of a positive ward/department ethos and consistent care delivery.
  • Adhere to Trust policies, procedures, and standards, including the 6Cs and nursing strategy.
  • Be aware of clinical governance frameworks and patient safety initiatives.
  • Identify and report risks, incidents, and complaints appropriately.
