Overview

The Private Patients Unit is seeking an experienced Private Administration Co-Ordinator with excellent communication skills who is customer focused with previous private coordination and administration experience, preferably within an NHS environment. Reporting to the Private Patients Unit Administration Supervisor, you will be responsible for administering the Private Patients Unit’s administration services and daily functions.

The post holder will be a member of the PPU administrative Team. They will report to the Assistant Service Manager or Administration Supervisor and be accountable to the Service Manager. The post holder will ensure the smooth-running of the PPU, coordinating all private patient appointments, admissions, day cases and diagnostics in a professional and effective manner.

They will identify and action barriers to optimal patient journeys and system flow from admission to follow-up and discharge. They will work in partnership with colleagues within the Private Patients Unit and other departments and sites to provide a seamless service to patients and other key stakeholders accessing services. The post holder will need to be conversant with a wide variety of patients, consultants and the wider PPU team and be able to capture and record patient information and clinical treatment information as documented in our Standard Operating Procedures. They will build successful working relationships with all PPU stakeholders to deliver a positive experience to each private patient.

  • Identify barriers to optimal patient journeys and take action to improve systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Private Patients Unit and other departments/sites to deliver a seamless service.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, consultants and the PPU team to ensure a positive patient experience.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience in private administration/co-ordination, with customer-focused service delivery.
  • Proven ability to coordinate appointments, admissions and diagnostics within a healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Competent in recording patient and treatment information as per SOPs.
