The postholder will be based with our Stroke team in the Stroke Rehabilitation Centre and support provision of person-centred occupation based rehabilitation. Within this role, you willprovide essential administrative support which will include management of team activity data, management of stock/equipment and wheelchairs and support the team with organisation of department. We welcometelephone enquiries or visits to the department to support the application process., As a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Technician, you will provide person centred goal focused rehabilitation for people with complex/highly complex needs following stroke. Working together with service users to understand "what matters," you will support engagement in meaningful occupation, promote independence and facilitate opportunities for recovery. You will develop group skills to enable you to plan and organise groups which will be delivered with colleagues and the wider multi professional team.You will provide person centred care, developing knowledge of strategies to support reduced cognition and communication using these with individuals to support engagement in occupation. We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and confident person with excellent communication skills and a passion for working with people. Previous experience in a therapy support worker role/experience in rehabilitation and groupwork plus IT skills will support this role. Training and development will include in service training, shadowing and supervision . A positive attitude to self directed learning will be valued. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.,
