Job description

Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is seeking a dedicated Band 4 Associate Practitioner to join the Cardiac Assessment Unit. You will be required to work within a multidisciplinary team to provide essential cardiac investigation services across the Trust. This role involves performing a variety of non-complex diagnostic tests according to daily workload schedules, ensuring high standards of patient care and accuracy. Strong communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to the smooth operation of cardiac services.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for updating loop recorder information for new patients and maintaining an accurate, up-to-date database. You will train and support new or junior staff in ECG and monitor application, oversee their duties to ensure standards are met, and escalate any issues to senior staff as necessary. The role involves performing duties across three hospital sites, using the Hospital Patient Administration System (Cosmic) and the Cardiology Patient Management System (CRIS) for booking patients and data entry. You will also help maintain a clean and organised working environment, including cleaning equipment, assist with reception duties when required, and take responsibility for identifying your own training needs to support ongoing skill development.
