We are currently seeking an Associate Practitioner in Histology to join our client’s team in Stoke-on-Trent on a short-term contract with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. If you have a background in histology and are ready to step in and make an impact right away, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the diagnostic process by preparing and processing tissue samples with precision and care. You will assist in the production of high-quality slides for examination, performing routine laboratory procedures, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. You’ll work closely with Biomedical Scientists, supporting them with daily tasks, maintaining laboratory equipment, and contributing to the smooth operation of the histology service. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient care will be essential in delivering timely and accurate results. The role requires cutting blocks of 25-30/hr ideally.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A relevant qualification in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• HCPC registration or working towards is desirable.
• Previous experience working in a histology laboratory or similar healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of histology techniques, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining procedures.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including microtomes, embedding stations, and tissue processors.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and infection control standards in a laboratory setting.
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in sample processing.
