Job description

Job Title: Radiology Department Assistant

In this position, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a quality radiology service for our patients and referring medical staff.

This role involves providing clinical support to Doctors, Sonographers, and Radiographers throughout the department, and assisting with manual handling tasks in a manner that is safe for both patients and staff.

You will be required to rotate through different Radiology areas (Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Breast unit, and A&E imaging) and assist staff in delivering high-quality care to a diverse range of patients.

We have an exciting opportunity in the Radiology Department of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust for Radiology Department Assistants. The department is undergoing a multi-million-pound redevelopment, upgrading equipment in Nuclear Medicine, MRI, and the Interventional Unit.

Working Pattern and Development

The working pattern includes a mix of day shifts across 7 days. The department actively encourages continued professional development (CPD), with opportunities for further training and growth.

The Royal Free Hospital is situated in the vibrant Hampstead area of London, close to Hampstead Heath, with many cafes, restaurants, shops, and pubs. It is easily accessible via Underground, Overground, and bus services.

The hospital offers a range of complex specialties, a busy A&E department, and is a center of excellence for Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and vascular work.
