Job description

Location: Bury St Edmunds
Hours: 18 hours per week
Salary: £24,070 – £25,670 per annum (pro-rata)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Support Worker to join our Under-18 Eating Disorders Service based in Bury St Edmunds. This Band 3 position offers a unique opportunity to support young people dealing with complex eating disorders.

This part-time role (18 hours per week) is ideal for those with a solid background in child mental health and a passion for delivering meaningful care within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of positive behavioural support plans.
  • Conduct home visits and provide practical and emotional support to young people and their families.
  • Observe, report, and document any changes in patient wellbeing.
  • Work under the direction of senior clinicians, including Nurses and Psychologists.
  • Maintain respectful and therapeutic communication with patients, families, and carers.
What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience within the care sector.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision while coordinating with clinical team members.
  • Confident in working with young people experiencing mental health or eating disorders.

Qualifications (Required – at least one of the following):

  • Care Certificate (or willingness to complete within 12 weeks).
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Diploma Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Apprenticeship Framework Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to safeguarding patient wellbeing.
