Job description

Job Summary

The successful applicant will provide efficient and comprehensive operational management support to the Outpatient Booking and Request List scheduling team and Outpatient Reception teams.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Act as a Scheduler for booking appointments on Cerner and ERS, prioritising according to triage outcomes.
  2. Ensure patients being contacted for their first appointment bookings are treated professionally and confidentially.
  3. Validate ERS worklists regularly by booking and closing patient episodes and pathways as appropriate.
  4. Compile service level reports from ERS worklists and Cerner request lists with support from the Outpatient Booking and Request List Manager.
  5. Review and update Bookings SOPs for each specialty to standardise first appointment bookings across all specialties.
Additional Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of relaying sensitive information to vulnerable patients.
  • Strong organisational skills and advanced IT skills to adapt quickly to new systems.
  • Ability to attend multiple meetings, meet deadlines, and achieve targets.
  • Previous line management experience is desirable.
Working Hours

Core hours: Two days a week, 15 hours total: Tuesday and Friday, 8 am – 4 pm (half-hour lunch break).
