Job description

Role: Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer

Banding: Band 3/4

Location: Coventry

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Minimum of 3 months, with potential extension to 6-12 months based on performance and workload.

Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:00 or 08:30 to 17:00

Rate: £13 – £17 per hour

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 3 Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in pharmacy stores and a passion for providing excellent service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing injectable chemotherapy within aseptic environments.
  • Preparing and labeling medications.
  • Assisting pharmacists with prescription preparation.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Managing stock levels and ordering supplies.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Providing support and advice to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Participating in training and development activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Holds NVQ Level 2 in pharmaceutical services or equivalent.
    • Prior NHS experience (desirable).
    • Good written and spoken English.
    • Strong aseptic experience.
    • Ability to dispense injectable chemotherapy.
  • Desirable:
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team.
    • Commitment to high-quality patient care.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
