We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the staff in the newly automated Stores section of the Pharmacy department at Queens Hospital, Essex.

The successful candidate will be required:

• To ensure that all standard Operating procedures are followed
• To ensure the safe storage, and supply of Pharmaceuticals to wards, departments, and dispensaries throughout the trust.
• To learn the use of Omnicell Pharmacy cabinets
• To be responsible for the standards within the stores area, promoting good practice.
• To help in the receipt of drugs
• To hold a level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service skills (QCF) and/or Level 2 certificate in Pharmaceutical science.

You will be self-motivated and have excellent communication, time management skills and able to work effectively in a team and under own initiative. The position demands a well organised person, who is capable of multi-tasking and demonstrates accurately following instructions in a very busy stores environment to provide a customer focused service.
Team working and organisational skills are required together with ability to prioritise when necessary. You should be able to remain calm under pressure and work conscientiously whilst paying particular attention to detail.

Main duties of the job

To carry out basic pharmacy store duties and assist in the provision of a high-quality service providing stock medicines to all areas within BHR Trust. The main duties are to Receive and issue drugs into and from the pharmacy store and assist in the management of stock within the Pharmacy.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
