Job summary

NHS Grampian's Stroke Rehabilitation Unit East at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen is recruiting a Healthcare Support Worker - Band 2. We seek enthusiastic individuals with an interest in stroke care to join a friendly, multidisciplinary team and deliver robust patient-centred care to adults aged 16 and over.

You will work alongside nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians and medical staff, with opportunities for induction and professional

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred care to stroke patients on SRU.
• Work with nurses, OT, physio, SLT and dietitians.
• Support rehabilitation activities and care planning.
• Participate in induction and ongoing development.

Fantastic opportunities have arisen for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a genuine interest in Stroke Rehabilitation to join our specialised rehabilitation team.

We are a 34 bedded unit divided into two Wards East/West that cares for both female and male patients whose age range is 16 upwards.

Our team within SRU is multi-disciplinary comprising of Nurses, OT's, Physiotherapists, Speech/Language Therapists, Dieticians and Medical staff of which you will work closely with.

We are also fortunate to have input from the Chest Heart and Stroke Nurses and Care Management.

We take your development very seriously and offer a robust induction programme with opportunities to develop many differing skills in caring for people who have had a stroke. You will also have the opportunity to take forward your role in stroke specific subjects in order to improve your knowledge and care for your patients.

The successful candidates will join a friendly, dynamic and evolving team.
