About the role

Join our Balvac team as a Methods and Proposals Engineer. You will deliver complex work that impacts our business and the world around you, providing an opportunity to develop your expertise.

What you'll be doing

1. Report to the Engineering Lead; collaborate with Technical, Preconstruction, and Operations teams.
2. Review enquiry documents and prepare internal briefing materials.
3. Submit technical queries as needed.
4. Maintain document control of all technical information.
5. Develop delivery plans with clear deliverables and timescales.
6. Assist with cost and time estimates when required.
7. Research and support engineering solution development and buildability.
8. Identify and recommend techniques/methods for engineering tasks.
9. Conduct buildability reviews, considering programme, budget, safety, and quality.
10. Produce technical proposals, reports, sketches, method statements, and test plans.
11. Support in drafting and reviewing design briefs.

Who we're looking for

• Civil engineering experience (with a contractor or consultant).
• Engineering degree (or equivalent); professional membership (e.g., IEng MICE, CEng MICE) preferred.
• Specialist experience in areas such as structural concrete repair, strengthening & protection, cathodic protection, sprayed concrete, CFRP strengthening, waterproofing, post-tensioning, resin injection, grouting, leak sealing & water management, bridge jacking & bearing replacement, bridge refurbishment (desirable but not essential).
• Awareness of industry standards, specifications, and specialist construction techniques is a plus.
