Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Bakery Supervisor to join Ottolenghi’s Central Production Unit and take a leading role in overseeing our bakery operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage production, support and develop the team, and ensure our products consistently meet Ottolenghi’s renowned standards for quality and efficiency.

What you’ll do:
  • Oversee daily bakery operations and ensure consistent food standards across all production stages
  • Lead, train, and support the bakery team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Develop and implement production plans to meet business needs efficiently
  • Manage purchasing, supplier relationships, stock rotation, and inventory control
  • Monitor and achieve food cost budgets while minimising waste
  • Ensure bakery equipment is properly maintained and serviced
  • Maintain strong communication with Ottolenghi restaurants and shops to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene standards, including HACCP and COSHH procedures
  • Regularly review and improve processes to ensure efficiency and excellence
What we’re looking for:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar supervisory or management role
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Passion for producing exceptional baked goods with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage costs, stock, and supplier relationships
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • IT literacy to support planning, reporting, and communication
  • Knowledge of food safety, health and safety regulations, and best practices
Working hours:
  • Full-time role with a 3-month probation period
  • 5 shifts per week within our 7-day operating schedule
  • Flexibility required, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
