Baker / Pastry Chef. Manchester

Salary: £30-35,000 pro-rata subject to experience.
Working Pattern: 5 days per week. Typical shifts will be morning to midday, however, flexibility will be required.

Dough Religion area new-school slice joint with an old-school obsession for great dough. Serving up 18-inch New York-style pizzas, layered with bold, 'craveable' flavours and crafted with premium ingredients from the UK and Italy, Dough Religion is here to shake up the city’s pizza scene. We are looking for a new Baker / Pastry Chef tolead the on-site bakery operations at Dough Religion within House of Social Food Hall

Produces a variety of high-quality bakes, including breads, pastries, desserts, and prep items for both the pizza and café offerings. The ideal candidate is hands-on, creative, consistent, and excited by the opportunity to help shape a growing brand from the ground up.

Professional Experience

• Daily production of a range of fresh bakes including hoagie rolls, bagels, dough balls, Cookies and NY-style cheesecakes.
• Develop and refine recipes aligned with Dough Religion’s bold, flavour-driven identity.
• Support dough production (pizza and otherwise) with willingness to learn specific techniques used in our signature pizza doughs.
• Maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency in all baked goods, with a high attention to flavour, texture, and presentation.
• Work alongside the kitchen and Front of Houseteams to ensure prep aligns with daily needs, event demands, and footfall patterns.
• Adhere strictly to food hygiene, allergen safety, and cleanliness standards, including COSHH.
• Plan, manage, and document daily and weekly prep schedules.
• Manage stock levels and ordering of bakery ingredients in line with GP targets.
• Assist in training junior staff or kitchen assistants in basic baking and prep techniques.
• Bring fresh ideas for specials, seasonal items, and creative collaborations.
• Be a brand ambassador – every bake served is a reflection of our ethos: “Worship the Dough.”
