Job description

Senior Project Manager (Baggage Systems) - Aviation - Stansted
Location: Stansted Airport (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH)
Duration: 6-month contract
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £82.57 p/hour

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee baggage system projects at Stansted Airport. You will manage key components such as Hold Baggage Screening (HBS), Early Bag Storage (EBS), and Check-in injects throughout the project lifecycle within the Business As Usual (BAU) team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver baggage elements of the Baggage Works programme, overseeing all project phases from design to completion.
  2. Lead project management activities related to baggage system design and delivery in a live, single-terminal environment.
  3. Engage with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved, maintaining quality, cost, and schedule standards.
  4. Analyze capacity modelling to ensure solutions meet future operational requirements.
  5. Maintain a strong focus on safety, risk management, and security compliance throughout all project stages.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of project management experience, preferably within aviation or similar infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience managing NEC contracts is essential.
  • Strong background in baggage systems, process systems, or manufacturing projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a live airport environment.
  • Security Clearance (CTC) for airport operations is required.
