Job description

Staffline is recruiting for Baggage Handling Colleagues to work for our client, DHL, at Bristol Airport.

The rate of pay is £13.19 per hour.

Overtime is available and is paid at £19.78 per hour.

This is a full-time role working rotating shifts in a 5 on/3 off pattern.

Shift times are 9 hours, starting from: 3am, 5am, 10am or 12pm, so flexibility is required.

Please note that as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment, all candidates who receive a job offer will be required to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing prior to their first day of training.

Successful candidates must hold a full UK driving license, as this role involves driving from the terminal to the apron as well as driving a vehicle which has a 1-3 loaded tow.

Due to the nature of this role, all candidates will be asked to provide references covering the last 5 years of employment and personal references for any gaps in employment. Candidates must be willing to undergo a DBS check.

Your Time at Work

As a Baggage Handling Colleague, the duties will be performed Airside and within the Baggage Unit, you will be responsible for:

  1. Processing baggage for onward travel
  2. Processing customers' baggage using manual and automated systems
  3. Operating specialist equipment within the Baggage Handling Unit
  4. Delivering baggage to the aircraft side in preparation for loading
  5. Ensuring compliance with both airline and airport policies
  6. Maintaining a safe working environment at all times
  7. Ensure the safety and efficiency of the operations by adapting to adverse weather conditions, such as rain, snow, or extreme temperatures.

This role will involve manual handling, therefore candidates will need to be physically fit as well as able to lift and move luggage weighing up to 30kg.

Our perfect worker will be calm, friendly and professional, with excellent communication skills. You will be able to work well within a team and react quickly and accurately to any given situation. Baggage Handling Colleagues would be willing to attend a medical.


You must hold a Full UK Driving License.
