Job summary

Socure in London is seeking a Software Engineer II – Backend to design, build, and operate scalable backend services powering identity verification and fraud prevention products, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Data Science teams.

You’ll own software from design to production, work on distributed systems, APIs and microservices, and contribute to testing, CI/CD, and code reviews.

Qualifications

• Practical software engineering experience building backend applications.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Java, Python, or a comparable backend language.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of asynchronous processing, messaging, retries, fault tolerance, and service-to-service communication.
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka or equivalent technologies.
• Understanding of source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems methodically and take ownership of solutions through production.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
