Job summary

Client Server is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to join a FinTech scale-up backed by a hedge fund client. You will work with a small team to deliver the core platform in a Microsoft environment, using the latest C#/.NET.

You’ll own technical projects across the full software development lifecycle, shaping how we scale and perform in production. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and a strong foundation in CS fundamentals such as OOP, data structures, and design patterns,

Qualifications

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent with 2:1 final grade from a top-tier university.
• A-levels: strong grades.
• Experience with modern C#/.NET Core and Python is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and full SDLC.
• Solid understanding of OOP, data structures, design patterns and algorithms.

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• You must have achieved a minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline from a top-tier university, backed by As at A-level.
• You are a technologist who enjoys collaborating and problem-solving, particularly focused on complex, distributed systems.
• You should have expertise with modern C# .Net Core; Python skills would also be beneficial.
• You need a strong knowledge of modern software engineering best practices and experience across the full software development lifecycle.
• You should have a thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, and Algorithms.
• You are excited to join a start-up in a role that you can shape and influence.

Responsibilities:

• In your role as a Backend Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a small, talented team to deliver our core platform within a Microsoft environment, utilizing the latest versions of C# .Net to produce high-quality code. You will take ownership of technical projects, working across the full development lifecycle to understand business needs.
