Job summary

RSG Plc is recruiting a Software Engineer to join a Bristol-based energy trading business, working in a seven-member engineering team in central Bristol. You’ll build reliable backend services and data pipelines in Python, with AWS, to support forecasting and trading.

The role is five days onsite, with a salary of up to £55,000 plus discretionary bonus and 30 days’ holiday, private healthcare, pension and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience with Python and SQL databases.
• Experience with AWS and data pipelines is preferred.
• Proven ability to build production-grade software.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data ingestion services connecting internal systems and external sources.
• Develop backend services, integrations and workflows to power internal tools.
• Create data transformations, validation and quality checks.
• Help turn forecasting and data science outputs into production services.
• Improve system resilience, retries, monitoring and recovery.
• Collaborate with engineering and trading teams to deliver practical solutions.
