IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Backend Java Developer to design and deliver high-quality applications using Java/JEE and modern web technologies. You will build new features, integrate systems, and apply best-practice engineering principles such as dependency injection, TDD, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Proven Java/JEE development experience.
• Experience with Spring and JSP/Servlets.
• Knowledge of DI/Ioc and AOP patterns.
• Familiarity with TDD and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate and data access patterns.
• Ability to collaborate with analysts, testers and architects.
• Strong problem-solving and delivery focus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java/JEE.
• Build backend components with Java-based frameworks.
• Apply enterprise patterns like DI, IoC, AOP and functional programming.
• Develop secure data access and transaction management.
• Support integration with enterprise systems and services.
• Contribute to DevOps through CI/CD and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues.
• Collaborate with analysts, testers, architects, and developers.
• Potentially provide technical leadership based on experience.
