Job summary

EUROPEAN SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS LIMITED is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join the Mobile Engineering team. You will contribute to the Backend for Frontend layer used by millions of users worldwide and collaborate with engineers, product, designers, and QA.

The role focuses on Kotlin-based services, Gradle, REST, GraphQL, and RAML within a dynamic UK team, with opportunities across levels from entry to staff depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience building server-side applications.
• Experience with Kotlin, Gradle, REST, GraphQL (GQL) and RAML.
• Experience with asynchronous code and performance optimization.
• Experience with legacy code and refactoring.
• Experience with build tools and CI.
• Experience writing unit tests.
• Experience integrating with bespoke backend services.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Mobile application Service Layer (Backend for Frontend) used by tens of millions of users around the world.
• Build the Backend for Frontend API layer consumed by mobile apps.
• Work as part of the Mobile Engineering team to develop new products and platforms.
• Collaborate with a large team of engineers, product people, designers, and QA.
• Contribute to interactive experiences across all touch points of a consumer journey before, during, and after purchase.
