Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Backend Engineer II to join our Security Compliance Engineering team in London or Stockholm. You will transform complex security, risk, and compliance requirements into scalable software that helps Spotify engineers build and operate securely.

You will design, implement, and operate backend services and tooling that enforce regulatory controls across our distributed platform, collaborating with security, engineering, and business partners to deliver pragmatic technical

Qualifications

• Experience developing backend software in an OO language such as Java.
• Proven track record building distributed, high-volume services in production.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience implementing security controls or safeguards in software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend products, services, and infrastructure for security Governance, Risk, and Compliance.
• Build scalable infrastructure and tooling to apply regulatory requirements and security framework controls.
• Develop reliable services that automate security and compliance processes with minimal manual work.
• Translate security and compliance requirements into practical technical solutions with partners.
• Contribute to engineering practices that address security, risk, and compliance at scale.
• Own the quality of work from design through deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.
