Job summary

Octopus Energy is hiring a Backend Engineer II for the Devices team. You’ll join a cross-functional group of backend and mobile engineers, building scalable Django backends to serve multiple countries from a single codebase.

You’ll own medium-sized features, ship frequent updates, and collaborate with Kraken services for billing, CRM and device control. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, open, agile culture in the UK.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years building web applications in Python (Django preferred).
• Experience with relational databases and background task processing.

Responsibilities

• Own medium-sized technical features and components with minimal supervision.
• Ship frequent updates with small PRs and fast feedback.
• Build and extend a Django backend serving multiple countries from a single codebase.
