BigCommerce is seeking a Software Engineer II, backend-oriented, to join our Data Experience squad. You'll design and build reliable backend services and APIs that power product workflows, work with data models, SQL, and event-driven flows, and collaborate across teams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of backend experience in Java/Scala/Kotlin/Go, strong SQL, API experience, and a bias toward simple, reliable solutions. Some frontend exposure is fine but backend focus remains core.

Formación

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/SW/CE/MIS or equivalent.
• Strong SQL and data modeling fundamentals.
• Experience building APIs, services, and integrations.
• Comfort with distributed systems and event-driven flows.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build reliable backend services and APIs powering product workflows.
• Work with data models, SQL, and event-driven flows to support features.
• Collaborate with UI when needed and break down problems into concrete plans.
• Contribute to production health through monitoring, logging, and runbooks.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshooting when systems misbehave.
