Job summary

Lightning AI in London is seeking a Backend Engineer to develop and scale the Lightning AI platform, spanning APIs, infrastructure, billing, security, and integrations. You’ll own features end-to-end, partnering with engineering, product, and design to ship high-quality iterations.

The role requires extensive Go experience, cloud and container tech, and a proven ability to drive projects in a fast-moving SaaS environment; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Extensive Go programming experience with testing and optimization.
• Experience building and scaling APIs, CLI tools, billing systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong ownership and ability to work in uncertain environments.

Responsibilities

• Write readable/testable/efficient Go code.
• Develop features, improve stability, and boost performance.
• Set technical direction for large projects with product leaders.
• Evaluate and document architecture, tools, and processes.
• Maintain quality, automate, and drive continuous delivery.
• Mentor engineers on system design and problem-solving.
