Job summary

Mowt in the United Kingdom is looking for a backend engineer who lives and breathes Laravel. You'll build APIs that process millions of Stripe transactions, optimize MySQL queries, and design data pipelines that never miss a beat. You''ll tackle webhook storms from Stripe, run fast analytics queries, and architect systems that scale gracefully.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production backends that handle real traffic.
• Expert-level Laravel and PHP knowledge (Eloquent, migrations, queues, events).
• Deep MySQL skills—you know your indexes from your joins, and your N+1s scare you.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs that frontends actually enjoy using.
• Comfort with asynchronous processing, job queues, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of web security, data privacy, and best practices.

Responsibilities
