Backend Developer / Software Engineer (Java 17, Kotlin, AWS) London / WFH to £85k

Are you a technologist Backend Developer with strong Java skills looking to progress your career, working with a modern cloud-based infrastructure and a range of technologies?

You could be joining a successful and growing commodities trading firm specializing in whiskey trading.

As a Backend Developer, you'll collaborate with the Lead Engineer on the whiskey trading platform, focusing on scaling the platform and developing new features. The role emphasizes code quality and involves designing and developing complex web-based trading platforms across the full development lifecycle.

The technology stack includes Java 17, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and AWS. You'll be encouraged to expand your skills using the latest technologies in a friendly Agile environment.

WFH Policy:

Flexible work from Central London, with the option to work from home twice a week.

About You:

• Degree educated, 2.1 or above in Computer Science or a similar STEM discipline from a top-tier university (e.g., Russell Group)
• Strong experience with Java and Kotlin development
• Experience with Agile processes and TDD
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals like OOP, Design Patterns, Data Structures, Algorithms
• Exposure to Scala, React, Spring, Oracle, Redis, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux is beneficial
• Collaborative with good communication skills
