Back Office Analyst – London, UK

About the Role

We are seeking a Back Office Analyst to join our small, busy Operations team in London. This role involves managing the trade life-cycle of all trades concluded by our Front Office, including confirmations, margin & collateral management, invoicing, and settlements. The role requires close collaboration with departments such as Trading Desks, Treasury, Credit, and Compliance.

This is a hybrid role, requiring at least three days per week onsite at our London office in Berkeley Square, Mayfair. It is a full-time position with responsibilities including:

1. Ensuring timely completion of all OTC and inter-company settlements.
2. Assisting in onboarding new counterparties by verifying static data in our trading system.
3. Owning the end-of-day cash flow report to reconcile and process all settlements.
4. Reconciling and settling monthly renewable PPA contracts.
5. Understanding and performing daily global margin calls.
6. Managing inventory and deliveries for renewable certificates (ROCs, REGOs, GOOs).
7. Producing monthly KPIs for management to track team performance.
8. Collaborating with the Product Control team to ensure timely invoicing and cash reconciliations before month-end.
9. Serving as a key contact for Compliance to ensure regulatory tasks (e.g., REMIT, EMIR) are performed.
10. Supporting process improvements around automation.
11. Monitoring the Back Office mailbox and distributing tasks, escalating issues as needed.
12. Responding to queries from internal and external parties promptly.
13. Mentoring junior team members.

About You

Required:

• Substantive experience in back office & financial operations, with knowledge of power commodities.
• Experience in financial or energy markets, understanding the trade life-cycle from a Back Office perspective.
• Intermediate or higher Excel skills, capable of working with large datasets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement across seniority levels.
• Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical, numerate, with strong attention to detail.
• Team-oriented, willing to support wider team efforts.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python is highly desirable but not essential.
